Full Job Description
Holiday Club Manager
Reporting to: Projects Director
Job Purpose: To lead the development and delivery of a high quality child-centred holiday club that adheres to all statutory and legal requirements, and embraces diversity
Terms of work: 24 days per year during Easter and Summer
Location: Carshalton
Playscheme Description: 12 place Holiday club for children aged 5-12 years with special needs run 6 days at Easter and 14 days in summer.
Wage: £12 per hour
DUTIES
Management
To liaise with Projects Director and steering group to plan and implement a high quality holiday club, that puts the needs of children first.
To create and maintain an ethos where diversity is valued, all children, parents staff and volunteers of all ethnicities, ages, gender, religion, economic status, sexualities and abilities feel equally valued.
To agree quality standards and methods of monitoring with Projects Director and implement as required.
To be involved in the development and review of playscheme policies and procedures
To work within agreed budgets
To ensure safe storage of confidential information
To be involved in the recruitment and training of staff and volunteers
To provide inductions for all new staff and volunteers
To provide leadership for staff and volunteer team
To organise staff rotas ensuring minimum staff ratios are met
To manage human and physical resources of the scheme
To write project reports
To organise small scale fundraising activities
To attend steering group meetings
Administration
To receive payments from parents and issue receipts
To keep clear records of payments received
To bank payments
To provide financial updates to Projects Director
Quality Assurance
To become familiar with quality assurance system
To set up and implement monitoring systems
To ensure staff and volunteers are familiar with quality assurance standards
Children?s Care Learning and Development
To allocate places to children ensuring a balance of needs within the scheme
To organise settling in days
To conduct home visits where deemed necessary
To work with team to plan group and individual activities for children
To work with staff , parents, children and volunteer to agree care plans for children
To provide personal care and toileting for children who require it
To ensure children are safe at all times by implementing child protection and health and safety policies
To ensure safety of yourself, staff and volunteers, parents and others who access the playscheme site
To administer first aid as required
To model good practice for staff and volunteer team
To organise the preparation of snacks that nutritious and delicious and with high food hygiene standards
To coordinate the transporting of equipment and play resources to playscheme site as required.
Parent Partnership
To work closely with parents to develop care and learning plans for children
To provide inductions for parents
To provide information and support for parents as concerning the care and development of their children
To ensure parents receive regular feedback on children
Partnership with Host
To actively engage as partners in the scheme
To communicate regularly and effectively about practical strategic and issues
To develop good relationship with the school
Other
To contribute to the long-term development of the scheme
To attend meetings when required
To work in an anti-discriminatory way within an equal opportunities framework.
To contribute to annual review of job descriptions, policies and procedures.
Working within agreed policies and procedures
Carry out any other duties as required.
